Is the InnerVision™ Transillumination System easy to assemble?
Yes, the InnerVision™ Transillumination System is very easy to put together. There are two components to this device: the Fiber Optic Cable and the Detachable Tip. Simply attach the tip to the end of the cable and plug the cable into the compatible light source.
Does the InnerVision™ Transillumination System contain latex?
No, the InnerVision™ Fiber Optic Cable and the InnerVision™ Detachable Tips are latex-free.
Does InnerVision™ Fiber Optic Cable have an expiration date?
No, the Fiber Optic Cable does not have an expiration date. The Fiber Optic Cable does have a limited one-year warranty.
What type of light source can I connect to the InnerVision™ Fiber Optic Cable?
The InnerVision™ Fiber Optic Cable can be connected to any major light source. Please consult our Light Source Compatibility Chart for a complete list.
How will I know when to replace the InnerVision™ Fiber Optic Cable?
When the distal end of the Fiber Optic Cable becomes dark and spotted, it is time to replace your cable. Consult the Directions for Use.
Why are there holes in the InnerVision™ Detachable Tips?
The holes enhance the radial illumination of the tip.
In what sizes/shapes are InnerVision™ tips available?
The tips are available in 40 FR blunt (Hurst), 50 FR tapered (Maloney), and 56 FR tapered (Maloney).

Can I reuse the Detachable Tips?
No, the Detachable Tips are for single use only.
How can I clean the Detachable Tips?
The Detachable Tips are sold sterile and ready to use. They are for single use only and must be discarded after the procedure.
How can I clean the Fiber Optic Cable?
You may clean the Fiber Optic Cable with a pre-steam autoclave, the STERIS or the STERRAD® system. Do not use synthetic detergents or oil bases soaps as they can damage the Fiber Optic Cable.
Can I use gluteraldehyde to clean the Fiber Optic Cable?
No, do not soak the Fiber Optic Cable in any disinfectants as the material will absorb the chemicals.

What surgical procedures are appropriate for the InnerVision™ Transillumination System?
The InnerVision™ Transillumination System can be used in anti-reflux procedures, colon reconstruction procedures, esophageal cancer procedures, and obesity procedures.
What is the benefit of using an InnerVision™ Transillumination System compared to using the laparoscope alone?
While a laparoscope provides some light when performing surgical procedures, the InnerVision™ Transillumination System has an added advantage as it lights organs radially. The surgeon is able to locate the tip of the InnerVision™ easily during procedures.
Is training required for the insertion and care of the InnerVision™?
The InnerVision™ is simple and easy to use. All instructions can be found in the Directions for Use in the product packaging.
Can I re-use the InnerVision™ Fiber Optic Cable if is discolored or cracked?
No, you cannot re-use the cable if it is discolored or cracked. The cable must be replaced with a new one.

How do you store the Fiber Optic Cable?
The InnerVision™ Fiber Optic Cable should be stored in a cool, dry place in temperatures not exceeding 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). The Fiber Optic Cable cannot not be hung or coiled tightly as it could result in damage to the fiber optics.
